HELEN SAVA was called to the Ontario Bar in 1991 after completing her law degree at the University of Windsor Law School and the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto. Helen is pleased to act as a Mediator with a focus on the life and health sector (both individual and group): short and long term disability claims (and associated tort/AB and employment issues), life and health claims, critical illness and creditor insurance claims.
Helen began her career as a judge's law clerk for a panel of judges with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and moved to private practice with Lang Michener in 1992 where she began her work in insurance litigation. In 1997 she joined Lafleur Brown and by January 2001 she opened her own boutique law firm, Sava Associates, specializing in litigation of Life and Disability claims. Throughout her career Helen has also devoted time to opinion writing, training and public speaking concerning issues relevant to the life and disability insurance industry.
Helen is passionate about dispute resolution and connects well with both Plaintiff and Defendant perspectives to strike a balance that leads to an impressive track record of cases resolved at Mediation. She looks forward to partnering with parties to make Mediation a meaningful and productive process.
